Frequently Asked Questions
Lovepacs serves children on the free and reduced lunch program through area public schools. We have established a direct relationship with school counselors and administrators in order to properly identify children in need. We are currently operating in The Colony, Frisco, Little Elm, Castle Hills, Aubrey, Austin, Denton, Lewisville, Plano, Prosper, and Cy-Fair (Houston).
Lovepacs provides mostly non-perishable, easy to open, and minimal cooking food items. In addition, we provide school counselors with stocked snack closets and hygiene products they may distribute to children who demonstrate a need.
Lovepacs primarily serves children during extended school breaks when the food they receive from the local backpack program will not be enough. (E.g. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, Easter). The school counselors also communicate with us when they are in need of specific items at additional times.
For confidentiality reasons, those involved directly with Lovepacs cannot deliver the boxes. Some of the schools chose to either have parents pick up from school or personally deliver the Lovepacs themselves. Other schools choose to take advantage of the partnership we have with the local police department, who deliver many of our boxes to the children's residence.
Yes! Lovepacs relies not only on volunteers to give of their financial resources but also their time. During various drives throughout the year we need individuals who are willing to sort, count, shelve, and pack inventory. Please stay in contact with us through our Facebook page and through our web page for dates and times.
Lovepacs has several drop off locations throughout the year. Please reference the community section for these addresses.
